The Children's Cancer Association Alexa Dyer Fund
In 2001, Russ and I founded the Alexa Dyer Foundation in loving memory of our beautiful blue-eyed daughter Alexa. In her short life, Alexa taught us to find faith, hope, compassion, and the deepest form of love.
Seeking to find good in our situation, we began the Alexa Dyer Foundation to support other families whose children have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Over the years we have financially assisted more than 100 families in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
In 2012, we choose to be part of Children’s Cancer Association’s Link program as the CCA Alexa Dyer Fund. We are proud to be part of CCA, a nonprofit founded here in Portland in 1995 by the Ellis family, after their daughter Alexandra died from cancer at the age of five. The only organization of its kind in the nation, CCA’s award-winning programs prescribe JoyRx to nearly 11,000 sick kids and their families, in partnership with seven area hospitals and health care facilities.
